For the adventurous...
Tina and I will bring several options:
- "Dread Pirate" (aka, naturally, "Dread Pirate Roberts"): a strategy game that's not too complicated and has great production values. You may not take home the dubloons.
- "Ars Mysteriorum" (aka, naturally, "Arse Mysteriorum"): an alchemist's apprentice competition in the form of a board game. It's strategic and a bit more complicated (on a level with Settlers). We know the designer and playtested it before publication. It's a lot of fun if you have a little patience and spare brain cells.
- "Zobmondo" (aka, naturally, "Zobmondo"): that crazy "would you rather" game. Would you rather have to eat some gum found under a seat on the Metro, or lick a band-aid found in the shower at the gym? Categories include "pain and discomfort", "food", "embarassment", and "ethics". What fun!
- "Once Upon a Time" (aka "that fairy tale game"): make up a fairy tale that uses, as story elements, the cards you have in your hand. A few of us played this last time.
- King of the Elves: a card game. Become King of the Elves by successfully extorting the most tribute from your subjects as you tour the kingdom. Apparently these are Republican elves.
- Citadels: a fast-moving card game of shifting identities. Good for a semi-large group.
- Cranium: an eclectic party game. Word puzzles, trivia, charades, drawing, sculpting, name that tune, etc.
I could go on. We have lots of games. But that'll do for starters. Not that we have anything against Texas Hold 'Em and Settlers. But our options are manifold, chilluns!
Peace,
Mike

I like the sound of Ars Mysteriorum
